By outlining what you should and shouldn’t do with the Bitmain Antminer L3 series miner’s New PSU, the instructions in this manual will help you use it properly.
Precautions for Use of PSU. This Applies to All APW Series PSU.
Table of Contents
12 Do’s to Follow
1. Bitmain Antminer L3 series usw APW7 power supply. Purchase a plug that is compatible with your local power outlets and complies with local standards because there are more than a dozen different types of AC power plugs and sockets used throughout the world. We use a C13 cord, which is a standard desktop power cord, for our APW series.
- The power cord must have a minimum 10 A rating.
- Minimum length should be 1.5 meters.
- Cross sectional area of cable’s copper conductor should not be smaller than 1 mm2
2. Check to see if the voltage and outlets in your area can accommodate the needs of the PSU and the Bitmain Antminer L3 series miners. The power supply unit’s (PSU) starting voltage must be the same as the output voltage coming from the outlet or socket.
A 210 V to 240 V input voltage range is required for the PSU. The output voltage of the PSU must match the requirements of the Bitmain Antminer L3 series.
3. Before using, inspect the PSU to make sure it is in good condition and was not damaged during shipping; if it was, it cannot be used.
4. Make sure the PSU is properly grounded and wired.

5. If you don’t want lightning to hurt your equipment, install lightning protection.
6. Install the PSU in a location with unrestricted airflow and no barriers.
7. To significantly extend the PSU’s lifespan, lower the power output.
- The PSU’s rated power should not be loaded with more power than 90% of that.
8. Maintain a PSU temperature of less than 50 °C. The half life of the PSU is reduced by 10% for every 10 degrees Celsius increase in temperature.
9. Utilizing the positive and negative ports of D/C power 6-pin connectors, properly connect the Bitmain Antminer L3 series miner’s hash and control boards.
*NOTE: Yellow – Positive; Black – Negative
10. Make sure the power cables are firmly fastened at the PSU terminal as well.
5 Don’ts to Follow
1. Avoid connecting or disconnecting the power connectors while the power supply unit is on. Make sure the power is off before plugging in or unplugging. Voltaic arcs caused by excessive DC can damage DC output terminals and pose a fire risk.
2. Outside of small spaces, use the PSU. Anything that might restrict the PSU’s airflow is prohibited.
3. Additionally, the PSU cannot be used in environments with high levels of humidity, salt in the air, or condensation.
4. Never attempt to power a PSU that appears to be damaged.
5. Never try to disassemble or repair the PSU yourself. Investigate further or return the PSU to us for repair if you notice any problems with it.

How to Connect the Power Supply of Bitmain Antminer L3
Nine PCI-e connectors are located at the top of the AntMiner L3+ / L3++ for connecting the PSU as follows:
- Eight PCI-e connectors for the hash boards. Each hash board has a set of two PCI-e connectors.
- One PCI-e connector located on the controller.
Each hashboard must be powered by the same PSU on both connectors to prevent possible damage and instability.
To connect the power supply:
- Connect PSU power cable connectors to each of the eight PCI-e connectors on the top of the AntMiner L3+, ensuring that each hash board is powered by the same PSU.
- Connect a PSU power cable connector to the AntMiner L3+ / L3++ PCI-e connector on the controller.
- Connect the network cable to the ETH port.
- To power up your AntMiner L3+ / L3++, connect the PSUs to the power wall outlet.
If you are using more than one PSU, power up the PSU connected to the controller AFTER you have powered up the other PSU(s).
